Phil has been working in Canadian public schools for over 10 years supporting learners in the primary grades the majority of the time. Nearly half of that time has been in an English/Mandarin bilingual program supporting students with unique learning abilities. He finds great fulfillment in supporting students and seeing them feel good about their learning successes. Sometimes this involves giving them a little extra time, while in other circumstances this involves supporting students on the Autism Spectrum, with ADHD, or other unique learning needs.
Additionally, he has been teaching English part time over the span of many years, primarily online. Particularly since 2019 he has been supporting long term students from Japan, Korea, and Chinese descent.
Being no stranger to learning languages himself, he has reached a level of proficiency in American Sign Language (10+ years), Mandarin Chinese (7+ years), and Cantonese (12+ years).
Lessons can be customized to meet your needs and learning goals. This may include using the “English for Everyone” series or a customized program for your particular circumstances.
